The Life and times of Dick Ourada

LDS 2010

As Brian Wilson once sang “little deuce coupe” for the Beach Boys, Brian Wilson of the Giants said “big deuce save” last night as he and his San Francisco teammates sent Bobby Cox into retirement. Wilson got his 2nd save of the post season last night which sent the Giants onto the NLCS against Philadelphia which starts Saturday in Philly. A gutsy game with more grit from this NL West team that has somehow found their stride in the last month and half of playing this wonderful game. They have a tough task ahead though facing the Phillies, but they made it. They are 4 wins away from their first pennant since 2002 when they lost the World Series to the Anaheim Angels. Good job!

This brings us to the LDS tonight as the Tampa Bay Rays host Texas for a game 5 showdown as to who will face the New York Yankees in the ALCS.

The Rays have lost both games at home as well as the Rangers, but now its a toss up as both teams have their aces going up against each other. This is the first series this year to go to a deciding game and it is the first time the Rangers have gotten this far.

Cliff Lee takes the rock tonight versus David Price of Tampa Bay. Lee took game one by pitching spectacularly in the dome, as Price looked confused. The Rays think their going to get to Lee tonight though, after winning 2 straight in Texas. David Price must come out and show the real cost of winning the big game. Tampa’s been here before and has the know how, and manager to get them to the next level again. Texas has Nolan Ryan, but he’s in the stands watching which may be a little motivating if you want a job next year on the team.

I can’t wait for this game. It’s on TBS tonight, which stands for Texas Beats St. Petersburg. The old folks can go to bed early after this is over and Texas wins. Its going to be a good one.

Enjoy your hotdogs.
