Wow!!!!!
What great games they were last night in the ALDS. Detroit held off the the late Yankee surge and won 5-4 with a commanding performance by Justin Verlander. On the the other side, C.C. Sabathia looked like he was laboring out there for New York. Delmon Young was the hero for this awesome Tiger team blasting a homer in the 7th and helping his Tigers take the lead in the series 2 games to 1. Tonight’s game in Detroit finds the Bronx Bombers in a bad position with the sometimes good, sometimes bad A.J. Burnett on the mound. Its a must win for New York if they hope to return home for a game 5 in Yankee Stadium. I still like the Tigers in 4 like I predicted.
The Tampa Bay Rays with their non so loyal fans find themselves on the outside looking in, as the A.L. Champs from last year Texas Rangers have taken a 2 games to 1 lead in the series. Tampa’s luck could be running on fumes after last week’s heroics. It’s gonna take a village to come back in this one fans.
Let’s see what the Phillies are really made of. The last thing they are thinking is that St. Louis is going to win today, and their probably right. With Cole Hammels taking the mound for the Phillies this afternoon, he should have the bats to back him up under the arch in St. Louis. Garcia is on the mound for the Cardinals, and he is going to need more than Albert Pujols to get his team out of a jam. Can St. Louis survive without Matt Holliday? Probably not.
Oh where oh where is the Diamondbacks pitching? Maybe somewhere on Camelback Mountain looking down on their season. The mighty Arizona team managed by Kirk Gibson face elimination tonight in the valley of the sun. Milwaukee is so tough right now, and Marcum takes the rock in the desert this evening. The Brew Crew should feel like this is their second home. After all they have a similar park, and they also spend a month and a half every spring training just a few miles from Chase Field. I like a Brewers sweep in Phoenix tonight.
4 games are on tap starting in just a couple hours from now. Are you ready for some baseball!
