We have a winner!
The Texas Rangers with a 3 home run game by Adrian Beltre have knocked out the feisty Tampa Bay Rays in another close game yesterday. Beltre had the game of his life hitting 3 home runs and taking his team to the next step. Tampa had a great run in September to get ahead of Boston to clinch the wild card, but October has sunk their ship. Texas will go on to play either the Detroit Tigers or the New York Yankees in the ALCS.
Speaking about the Yankees, A.J. Burnett stepped up his game and made the Tigers confused. What pitch was coming, a wild one or right down the middle? Most of them were right down the middle. But the real hero of the game had to be Curtis Granderson who made 2 spectacular catches in center field to rob the Motown boys of game #4 in Detroit last night. The Yankees even got A-Rod hitting the baseball again as they cruised to the end of the game and back to New York for the all important Game #5 tomorrow night in the Bronx. I still like the Tigers to win it.
The Phillies say go go and the Cardinals say oh no, as they find themselves with their backs against the arch at home in St. Louis tonight. Another close one, but Philadelphia and their pitching just seems too tough. Roy Oswalt will take the mound for Philadelphia tonight against White Sox cast-off Edwin Jackson for St. Louis.
The Arizona Diamondbacks bit the Brew Crew last night in Phoenix. I think Milwaukee was out partying all night in Scottsdale and came into the game a little over confident. They play again tonight, as the Diamondbacks try to even the series up at 2-2. If they can’t pull it off, its vacation time for them.
Looking forward to watching some National League this evening. Old school style with a new flavor.
