Rain rain go away come back another day. It hasn’t rained in Texas for five months, and all of a sudden Detroit shows up and it rains for three days. Justin Verlander can’t get a break in this years playoffs. It seems like it rains on the day he always takes the mound. Well Detroit is down 1 game to nothing against the Rangers, and yesterday’s game was washed out. Max Scherzer takes the hill for Detroit in Arlington for today’s afternoon contest against Derek Holland. The Tigers need a win to even up this series before heading back to Motown. The runs must score early for the Tigers before they have to face Neftali Feliz in the ninth inning who is throwing fastballs right by the hitters this post season. The Rangers are hoping they can top Saturday night’s run total by getting Adrian Beltre to bop a few more over the wall. Look for manager Jim Leyland to pinch hit late in the game and bring in defensive specialists to shore up the mistakes that can bite a team in the butt in the late innings.
The Brewers don’t quit. The Cardinals have a horseshoe up their ass. Tonight’s matchup of Shaun Marcum for Milwaukee and Edwin Jackson for St. Louis will be a good one. I like St. Louis to win tonight to even up things in Miller Park before heading back to Budweiser Park. I love that both teams are frothing at the mouth for the battle of the beer series. I wonder which park is selling more of the suds this post season. I’m guessing Milwaukee, just for the fact that they keep on drinking as long as the Packers and Brewers keep giving them a reason to keep the party going. St. Louis pulls this one out tonight in Game #2.
Go Bears!
