2011 World Series Game #7

Crown the Cardinals!

Congratulations to the city of St. Louis and their beloved baseball team on winning not only the tremendous game #6 but also delivering a solid game #7. These guys didn’t give up. They were 10 1/2 games out of the playoffs on August 25th, they were down to their last strike twice in game #6 of the World Series, and somehow believed in the old saying “never give up”. We can all take something from that in life no matter how many lemons it gives us sometime.

Texas manager Ron Washington was ready to run out of that dugout twice to celebrate at the end of game #6, and now it looks like he may be the Marv Levy of baseball. The question is, can the Rangers return again and make the third time a charm in 2012? The question now for the Cardinals is, can they get Albert Pujols to return next year? All these questions will be formulated into answers over the next several months around a hot stove in some fantasy cabin.

It always makes me sad when the season is over. There is no basketball, if your football team sucks your Sunday afternoons are freed up to rake leaves and shovel snow. Do you care about hockey at all? We now rest for the winter and prepare ourselves again for those great words of “play ball”.

Hope springs eternal.
