10-6-12 Division Series and Wild Card Wrap up

The replacement refs from the NFL must of took new jobs at Turner Field yesterday as MLB umpires. Nobody feels as screwed as the Atlanta Braves and their fans judging by the garbage thrown onto the field in the Cardinals flight to the NLDS against Washington. Though, some of that garbage were the Braves players including retired Chipper Jones making some major league errors. The Braves didn’t handle the ball well or the loss that occurred, even protesting the contest that MLB decided wasn’t going to go in their favor either. Matt Holiday won’t get Columbus Day off on Monday because he’ll be facing the Nationals after his big home run which help vault the Cards to the next round. If I were the Nationals, I’d hope that the lucky Cardinals get confused and fly south, because the mojo is working for the defending World Series champions.

The night game gave us the Baltimore Orioles playing an down in the dumps Texas Ranger team who decided to take this week off, and were rewarded with the whole winter off to watch the rest of the playoffs on T.V. for the first time in three years. It was a well pitched game by both teams, but Buck Schoewalter got his O’s to the NLDS that will face the Yankees. There will be a new American League Champion this year and the arrow is pointing to Oakland and Detroit in this writer’s opinion.

Let’s take a look at this Oakland at Detroit game this early evening. Both the A’s and the Tigers won their divisions close to the end of the season, in Oakland’s case the last day. This is going to be a series to pay close attention to because of the lucky horseshoe up both teams asses. Texas and the Chicago White Sox both didn’t want to be in this position as much as their division foes. Tonight we have the best pitcher in the game in Verlander facing off against Parker in Motown. This 5 game series has got to go to Detroit due to the pitching the Tigers are throwing. It’s been a nice ride for the A’s but the bus stops in Michigan.

The late game has a fragile Dusty Baker returning to his beloved home of San Francisco. Cueto for the Reds and Cain for the Giants. Look for Cain to be more able in this home game for his bay area boys.

Here’s an early prediction for the World Series. Detroit against San Francisco. Those are going to be some long flights.
