The Detroit Tigers clawed their way back in game #2 to beat the Oakland A’s to go up 2 games to 0 in their ALDS. Don Kelly seemed more like Gene Kelly prancing home on a passed ball to bail out his team from the rains that were beginning to fall. Then in the bottom of the ninth he turned into Machine Gun Kelly spraying his bullets into the outfield as his gang came home to score the winning run. The Oakland A’s are in big trouble as they make their way back to their west coast home. It’s going to take three in a row to stop the D train. Well the last time they won three in a row was last week against the Rangers to win the division. Its not happening this time. Detroit is going to face New York by the weekend.
Those Cardinals flew the coop yesterday as Washington’s Jordan Zimmerman clipped the wings of the red birds in game 1 of their NLDS. Both teams played great and I thought the St. Louis would win at home but it wasn’t the in the cards.
This afternoon we St. Louis has Jaime Garcia pitching against a great Nationals
team who would love to win 2 before heading back to D.C.
Those damn Yankees did it again! With a tight game going into the ninth catcher Russell Martin blasted a go ahead homer and the Yankees poured it on from there. The Yankee’s Sabathia and Oriole pitcher Hammel pitched in a dual, but the O’s couldn’t get past New York in game 1. Tonight we find Chen on the hill for Baltimore with former steroid user Andy Pettitte taking the mound for New York’s American League team. The Orioles find themselves in a must win game early on, because the last 3 games are played in the Bronx. This is it Baltimore, do it or start building a nest for next season.
If anyone can come back from a 2-0 deficit its the Giants of San Francisco. Cincinnati has just plain out beat them in both games in the city by the bay. I would of thought especially since the Reds’ Cueto went out in game one the S.F. was going to take this series on pitching alone. The Reds pitchers have baffled the Giants hitting. If you can’t score you can’t win. Its going to be a long flight to the Queen City. Maybe the Giants should take a ride on a paddle boat on their day off today, instead of painting the town red tonight. Where is the pitching for San Francisco? Where is The Panda? Where is The Freak? Where are the western division champs? I guess they are hopped up on goop!
