The Life and times of Dick Ourada

10-10-12 ALDS & NLDS

As I sat by myself in my recliner yesterday watching pitching duals last night I thought when the hell is this Giants-Reds game going to be over so I can watch the ALDS, Scott Rolen blew it for the Reds with an error at third base allowing the Giants to escape with a win in the 10th inning. Cincinnati pitcher Homer Bailey pitched a no hitter through five innings while the Reds fans thought they were lucky to watch this historic moment. Believe me they’ll remember it, especially if Zito shuts them down again today and forces a game #5.

Where are the hitters? Detroit and Oakland must of caught that bay area cold that’s going around that causes your hitters not to even show up. Anderson made fools of the Tigers batters last night as Oakland pulled out a win at home to stay alive. Tonight’s late night game on the west coast has Max Scherzer pitching for his Tigers, and as a White Sox fan I can tell you that its going take an antibiotic to shake him off that mound. Scherzer gives hitters the chills. Look for the Tigers to win tonight and move onto the ALCS.

Where are the Orioles staying in New York? I hope their train ride up north got there on time, because The New York Yankees are mad and maybe a little down after game #2 in Baltimore. The Orioles need to show up with some runs tonight and some left handed hitters. Jim Thome should be parking baseballs over the right field wall this evening or he’ll be parking cars for the rich Yankee fans in the lots for game #4. Its time to show up or walk back to Baltimore with salt on their tails. Look for the Yankees to win tonight.

Our first game of the day has the Cardinals facing the Nationals in D.C. The nations capital hasn’t seen a playoff game since, well I think when G.W and Al Gore battled it out in the 2000 election. Chris Carpenter is back on capital hill this afternoon facing a Nationals team that is hungry. Steven Strasburg is going to be eating hotdogs in the stands with a group of lobbyists cheering on his team. I wonder who will be throwing out the first pitch for today’s Game #3, I hear it could be Nancy Reagan.
Bring on the games, and bring out the peppers and sausage.
